Focusing on building
ALL girls’ future!
Our History
After hearing so many young girls speak negatively about their self image, in particular their hair, we decided to take action and create a natural hair club, originally named Curly Coogs with the hopes of encouraging young teens to love and embrace their natural beauty. Girls from all walks of life, races and ethnicities would meet during lunch time and discuss things that mattered most to them which included hair, fashion and of course boys! Most importantly, it was an opportunity for mentors to give our girls tools to love, embrace and own their true and authentic selves.
Since then, Future College Curls’ curriculum has been implemented in several middle and high schools and as of January 2022 is being macro-modeled in an elementary school! The future is BRIGHT for Future College Curls!

Why Support FCC?
Because she's worth it!
When you support Future College Curls, you are letting a young girl know that you have her back. You are telling her that you believe in her, you support her, and that her future is worth investing in.
Self Love Development
One of the biggest skills that our girls will need in order to thrive in life, is the skill of loving themselves. Through intentional workshops, activities and our annual girls conference, we provide our goals with tools to learn how to love who they truly are.
College Exposure
Future College Curls has a holistic approach to college readiness that includes skills such as critical thinking, time management, communication, decision making, and money management. We believe these skills help our girls not only survive freshman year, but THRIVE throughout their entire college experience and beyond!
Leadership Opportunities
It is our goal to provide our girls with opportunities and connections to make a difference in the world we live in. We create positive environments where our FCC members can discover the leader within themselves.

LaQuiera Gantt – Bio
LaQueira Gantt is a college counselor for Abilene Education Foundation. While working with the students at her local high school, Gantt saw how many young women struggled with self-esteem, self-love and personal guidance. Troubled by this realization, Gantt went into action starting a school club for teen girl empowerment called Future College Curls (FCC).
FCC soon grew into multiple branches and hosting teen empowerment conferences with girls in attendance from around the world. Gantt stands by the fact that all students have bright futures with the proper guidance and mindset. She has dedicated her life to providing just that to thousands of teens who still contact her frequently to say “Thank you Ms. Gantt!”
